  - "... entertaining and informative, and with its diverse links and references, it might nudge readers towards some detective work of their own." Quill & Quire

- "This book rates a big bravo from the Spaldings. They address issues that many are concerned about: Canadian history, Canadian culture, and the safe use of... the internet. I ... look forward to many more entertaining books in the Adventure•net series." Island Tides

- "... should be a winning series... this format will catch the eye of dedicated surfers (and reluctant readers) who may agree to give it a try based on the web conections but who should find themselves hooked by the intriguing goings on..." Island Parent

- the story is both enjoyable and informative. It would prove valuable in a study of art and "The Group of Seven." The websites will allow intermediate students the chance to pursue additional information leading to subsequent research projects." Resource Links

- “In its innovative use of the Internet ... this book may be an original. Read n’ surf, just too totally cool” Gulf Islands Driftwood.

- “Andrea and David Spalding marry fact and fiction to create an absorbing

novel that has a wealth of information. By providing a historical context, the Spaldings do an excellent job of breathing life into names that might otherwise remain rather flat. The other innovative aspect of the series is its inclusion of web sites pertaining to the material. The Lost Sketch is an impressive start to what could

be a fascinating series. Highly Recommended.”Canadian Materials.

While Rick and Willow are at summer camp in Ontario, they find an old boxcar in the middle of the woods. Inside is a mysterious painting. Rich thinks it's worthless but Willow has a hunch that it might be valuable. In fact she thinks it might have been painted by one of Canada's famous Group of Seven.

This is the first book in the Adventure.Net series which follows Willow and Rick as they travel across Canada with their parents.

This new series is unique as it incorporates intriguing non-fiction fact boxes and actual internet sites into the fiction story.
